Post office Himmayathnagar
Speed Post not delivered

THE POSTMASTER AT HIMMAYATNAGAR DECIDES WHETHER YOU DESERVE TO GET YOUR SPEED POSTS OR NOT

Since I was going to Delhi for Coaching for 6 months & I was expecting important letters, requested in writing the Postmaster at Himmayathnagar, to redirect my letters at a Delhi address.

I called the Post office 040-23463512 & 040-23463539 several times, but no information was given to me about any mail I received. I sent two people twice to the Post office to enquire. Both times, they came back empty handed.

When I returned form Delhi, I was shocked to find that I had received several important speed posts, dated 2/11/10, 31/12/10. It resulted in my losing an important legal case as I received none of the summons dated 11/11/10, 15/12/10, 27/1 & 28/2.

When I met the G.M of Postal Services, at Dak Sadan, Abids, she only asked me to give a complaint to the SSPO Mr. Sharma, which I did on 3/11/10. He gave a reply dated 19/5, saying that the letter for Redirection was received only on 31/12/10.Thus, the Postmaster did no wrong. He failed to explain the speed posts dated 27/1 & 28/2, which as per his observations was sent to me, much after my letter for redirection was received.

I next complained in writing to the Director Postal Services Mrs. Mariamma, on 20/6, 1/8, 17/8 & met her at least 10 times.

The SSPO Mr. Sharma now sent me a letter dated 16/8 requesting time for investigation, even though I gave him the date I received the Registered posts.

Finally, he sent me a letter dated 9/9, saying that I was not available at the given address & hence the Registered Post could not be served to me!! He claimed that my letter for redirection was received only on 17/1. Even then, I had received registered posts on 27/1 & 28/2 which was not redirected to me.

I met the Director Mrs. Mariamma & was told that the Postman had been transferred as a punitive measure. I found that he had been “transferred” to the next lane!

Due to this, the Postmaster at Himmayathnagar refused to send my 2 Speed posts dated 26/7 & 26/7, EN 012277621 & EN 012277618. Speed post tracking showed me that the 2 Speed posts never left Himmayathnagar Post Office where it was “bagged”.

I gave a written complaint to the new S.S.P.O dated 12/10 & am yet to receive a reply.

I sent a letter dated 1/11 to the D.D.G, New Delhi & am yet to receive a reply from him. However, when I called him over the phone, he casually told me that they must have misplaced the 2 speed posts & that it was a regular matter.

The attitude of the Post office is clearly pathetic & it appears that they work in a whimsical manner & involve themselves in the personal matters of their clients & send or not send Speed Posts at whim. Very sad indeed.
