I was to travel from air india flight no. AI765 from kolkata to chennai on 27th april. at around 4.00p.m when i was about to leave for the airport i got a message on my mobile that the flight has been cancelled and please call the customer care for other travel arrangements. when i called the air india customer care they confirmed me that the flight has been cancelled and they can shift me to the next day flight to chennai. i told them that it is urgent for me to fly to chennai today itself then they said that they can only refund the full amount in that condition. i had no choice left other than purchasing a new ticket with the other airline. after reaching the airport i bought a new ticket with the indigo airlines with an increased fare of Rs. 1500 compared to my air india ticket. then i went to the air india ticket counter for the cancellation of my ticket where i came to know that they are shifting the passengers to the spice jet airlines. i told the duty manager that this information was not been given to me in the customer care so that i would not have purchased the new ticket with the Indigo airlines. they just listened to it and had no reply. i want the reimbursement of Rs. 1500 which i had to pay to the INDIGo airlines
