Ohhhhhh! God Save us………………….”LIFESTYLE” poor shoppers

A harrowing experience of shopping at one of the leading brand stores across the nation.

Been sucked into the new MNC concept of shopping and we did enjoy the whole new idea of an emerging INDIA, our favorite family shopping destination, out off the million choices we have now, we frequented Guess…………..indeed!!! it was “”LIFESTYLE”

Been shopping with them for the last 10years even got a privileged card “The Inner Circle”. I was many a time admonished for not carrying this so called ‘card’ to collect a point. God knows for what……….

The harrowing experience of shopping at the exclusive, branded, mega super shop was flushed down the drain with the way I was treated yesterday………………..

As a member of this so called mega shop and registered as a member we kept getting messages now an again to come an patronize, last month as we were at Coimbatore decided to visit the new big mall which was in the news “Brookfields”

As a habit we saw “LIFESTYLE” went in there and saw some colorful canvas shoes which my daughter likes and we picked them up.

the shoe was tight we got a size -38. As we are from Ooty situated 100 k.m from Coimbatore exchange was out of our mind but since we are so well associated with Life style gave them a buzz

Called up the store at tel no:0422- 2362800 a sweet voice as usual answered our grievance and connected to another no….. we expressed our problem an my daughter SINCE she liked the canvass shoe told the person on the other end, we will courier the products down and pay for the return courier could you please change it too size 40.

Prompt came the reply no problem next time when you’ll come down visit and change it….

THE NIGHT MARE……………

I was in Coimbatore yesterday and since my daughter had asked me to exchange the 2 pairs of shoes I landed up at “LIFESTYLE” at 12.30 pm. Quite an ordeal for exchange, so much of paper work landed at the exchange desk at 1.00 pm. Exchange slip no 3329 . asked to sign a register, was given another slip for exchange and went changed the ordinary canvass shoe from size 38 to 40 …… was taken to another counter and asked to pay Rs.1, 000/-

When we made the purchase we paid Rs. 498/-

Just to change the size I was asked to pay more, could not reason things out and then spoke to One Mr. Joseph Durai who told me we picked up the merchandise, at offer price but now no offer, but please wait we will sort it out.

I did point out even in the bill given to me, item description it said:

36-41-canvas shoe blue 0200618360199

36-41 Ladies Canvas Shoe 0200612036099

I presume 36-41 is the shoe size, so same price right.

I was getting restless and was told by the lady at the exchange counter, computer problem, please wait, after a while a few more personnel landed up and they were discussing, that offer price and the present price, billing was having a problem, again Mr. Joseph Durai reassured me, your shoe has been packed too, 10 mins we will sort out the computer problem and hand it over…

I had no time to spare but since my daughter liked the product I waited for “TWO LOOOONG “hrs. At 2.30 pm they tell me sorry sir we cannot exchange it you haveto pay the difference.

Wanted to meet the store manager who was trying his best to avoid the situation, lost my cool, then he finally lands up ‘Mr. Venkitachalam VG ‘ says he spoke to higher ups nothing can be done, on my end I can give you a 20% off.

I did not come to your store to waste my time and that of your precious staff, almost 5-6 off them were involved in this fiasco, in the very beginning itself you’ll had to tell me’ no exchange’ I would not have troubled you’ll.

Made me wait for 2 ½ hrs living up to your theme I guess ” In keeping with the Group’s tradition of making every shopping experience even more rewarding and memorable”

1.) Very memorable ‘LIFESTYLE’ I will take it to the grave, in the days where institutions claim customer is “king” I was treated like a door mat “GOD BLESS YOUR LIFESTYLE”

2.)“More rewarding exchange and pay 200% more should be your motto for the future”

My small town shoe walla would have come home and obliged……
