We got two websites developed from M/s DBS Infosoft represented by Mr. Neeraj Vats, its CEO. at the time of taking order he committed on providing complete back up of the websites. We took the package and paid him Rs.5000/- towards web hosting charges.
However, when we asked him for the website back up and code to enable us to shift to our internal server, he refused the backups and asked us to download ourselves. On our attempt to download we found that he had changed the administrator passwords himself without any authority. It amounts to stealing of passwords. When confronted, he gave a set of passwords which did not work. On asking again he demanded Rs.5000/- from us again saying that our services had expired. We showed him a copy of invoices which clearly showed there were still 4 months to go in our subscription. We asked him for the passwords pointing out that passwords are our proprietary right. He nevertheless continued with his balckmail forcing us to employ a specialise firm which ripped our website from the server and hosted it on the new server. In the meantime, following arguments, Mr. Vats, egotistically stopped our email service and webservices, knowing fully well that we had still had time before our service expired.
I suggest extreme caution in delaing with this person. He talks very sweetly, but only till the billing is done. Once he has the money in his hand he behaves in the most unprofessional manner and uses blackmail to extract more and more money out of you. Beware.
