I bought a Dell Inspiron laptop last year (Service Tag: BR26ZP1) and it's still under warranty period. Few days back I heard a buzzing sound from the product's adapter (power supply cord). I became very nervous and reached my nearest Dell service center without any delay (14/01). They checked the adapter and found that because of some short-circuit within the adapter such a noise was coming out from there. However, they refused to repair the adapter and said that Dell won't provide me any replacement of the adapter until it's fully damaged. Though I expressed my skepticism and said that such a thing could damage my laptop completely, they didn't pay any heed to my request and sent me back home by saying that nothing would happen.
What should I do now? Can anybody help me with proper advice? Can I take any step against them for not repairing my adapter though it's under warranty period?
