DISPLAY PROBLEM

I, Sandipan Mukherjee resident of 2/1C, Mohini, Mondal Ganthi, Kaikhali, VIP Road, PO- Airport, Kolkata – 700052 have purchased one LG 20” LCD colour monitor model no. W2043T (Sl no. 003LPSY018838) on 22.05.2010 from Saboo Computers Pvt Ltd, Nager Bazar, Kolkata.

On 14.06.2010 the LCD screen of the said monitor went complete white. On 15.06.2010 my wife Ruma Mukherjee had lodged a complain to LG Service Centre over phone and a confirmation SMS sent to my mobile from LG saying my request ID is C1061511222 and giving a helpline no to call for any further assistance.

On 16.06.2010 Service Engineer from LG visited my place and after verifying the monitor he suggested that the fault may be at LCD panel and change of LCD will rectify the problem and on 19.06.2010 another Service Engineer came to my place with a new LCD to change the defective one. But after the change the same problem was still there. So he told us that it might not be the problem of LCD and removed the new LCD. Then he contacted Mr Yogesh at the Service Centre and explained the problem. I have also talked to Mr Yogesh for replacing the monitor as the particular problem could not be detected and also the said monitor purchased only on 22.05.2010 went dead on 14.06.2010 i.e. even before the completion of one month of purchase of the same. I have been told by Mr Yogesh to send the photocopy of the bill and he will do the needful by contacting his Higher Authority through e-mail for replacing the same.

That was on 19.06.2010 and today is 02.07.2010. After 19.06.2010 nothing has happened till date and my monitor is still lying unattended/unoperatinal. Will anybody from LG please tell me is this the after- sales service of a renowned/famous company like LG???.. In the meantime I have contacted several times to your local office over phone as well as to your toll free number. To my utter surprise there were several phone calls from LG too asking me ridiculous and peculiar questions like “WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR MONITOR AND IS YOUR COMPUTER WORKING PROPERLY? ”

Now 17 days have already elapsed and my faith and hope with the post-sale LG Service has been shattered, the performance being most disappointing. I would again request you to kindly look into the matter seriously and sincerely and solve the problem as early as possible under intimation to me. In the alternative I have no option left but to move the case to Consumer Forum/Court for the said issue to be resolved.

Surprisingly today i.e. on 2nd July one sms from LG Care came to my mobile stating “YOUR SERVICE REQUEST C1061511222 IS CLOSED.” I just could not understand what are you trying to convey by sending this sms. After seeing this sms I must say you please discontinue with your SERVICE SECTION and only continue with your SALES SECTION. That will be a great relief for both of us.
