I had lodged a complaint with ACER vide case id no:123011:12 om 30.12.2011 for my ACER Laptop Model Number: AS5745, Product Serial Number: LXPTW0C058111093C72500 which is under onsite warranty. The Service Engineer came promptly and informed that the LCD needs to be replaced. As the part was not available at Ranchi I was told that it would take about a weeks time for the part to arrive at Ranchi. The laptop has not been repaired yet, and because I had purchased the laptop for my daughter who is a student at Chandigarh and she was facing serious problems with her projects in the absence of the laptop I had requested M/s ACER through email to get the laptop repaired latest by 08.02.2012 or replace with new one, so that I can send the laptop to Chandigarh through a family member who was going to Chandigarh on 09.02.2012. But unfortunately ACER did not bother to even reply to my email. The local, service centre of Ranchi informed on 07.02.2012 that part is expected on 08.02.2012 and the machine would be repaired as soon as the part arrives, but the part did not arrive on 08.02.2012.
Under the circumstances I have no other option but to buy another laptop for my daughter as she cannot wait indefinitely for the the laptop to get repaired, moreover I have to send the laptop to Chandigarh after it is repaired and I have to wait till someone in the family goes to Chandigarh. I want complete refund of the money which I have paid for the laptop immediately as even if the laptop is repaired after I am compelled to buy a new laptop for my daughter, it will be of no use. If repair under onsite warranty takes unlimited time how will the consumer manage if there is inordinate delay. Moreover a laptop needs to carried from one place to the other very frequently and such delay in repairing will render the purchase useless.
