Delay in connection

I have applied for a gas connection from bharat gas on 14th of august. I was told by the distributor, Anjali Gas Service that I will be given the connection instantly if I buy the stove along with the connection. Since there is a "long list" of applications who does not wish to buy the stove, I will have to wait if I don't buy the stove. When ever I contact them for the status I am told that it is in process and it will take time. But they are not able to tell me how long the list is or what my reference number is.
