With deep sense of disappointment I, who has joined IGNOU BDP course in 2, is forced to write a mail to you, after failing repeatedly unsuccessful to get the assignment marks updated on my grade card.
Some of the assignments, that has been submitted as long back as May are still not reflected in my marksheet. I have personally visited many a times my study center, and they reply every time that all assignment marks has been communicated to study center. In essence, I, I'm sure like many of other hopeful people of India joined IGNOU to complete the traditional education, but still deprived of the degree even after joining the course around 8 years back, and even after completing all examinations around 2 years back. Due to totaly engaged in sorting out those assignments, I 've submitted some other assignments in August which are also pending for updating.
Keeping in view the utmost mission of IGNOU, i.e., to provide education to all without any barrier of distance and boundaries, it is a great question to look back and check how many of the students who got fed up of all this assignment related torture and either dropped in between due to sheer disappointment, or awaiting form years for completion of the course, like myself. I'm sure, there would be many... many thousands...
The process of assignment checking and mark updating shall be made more integrated and speedy. It would even be surprising to know that I've completed my PG diploma, even before the degree is received. So, now if I plan for higher PG degree courses, I have little hope to get admission, because they will consider my PG diploma for lateral entry only when it is completed after graduation degree.
IGNOU was founded with a great aim, but is now one of the institution that is really bad on the name of Indira Gandhi Ji.
