I had purchased a Blackberry 8520 handset on 24/8. The handset developed some problem and I took it to the service centre at Redington India Ltd., Lajpat Nagar II, New Delhi for repairs. I was given work order receipt no. DEL/BB/11/03325 DT. 20/5. The keypad were not functional & the service engineer examined it & conveyed that it shall take about a week. I approached the service after a week but the set was not repaired. After a month of follow up, I was told that the handset is tempered & it cannot be repaired as warranty is void. Since the handset was warranty there was no need for me to get it repaired from a non-approved service centre. Also, the techinician at service centre while examining the handset never pointed out about the tempering.
The service centre is not able to repair it & hence wants to shift the blame to the consumer.
