I want to install Fedora-12 on my Compaq-CQ-40 604-TX laptop but I am unable to do it because while booting from CD it says "kernel panic". I was also unable to install Ubuntu-9.10
on my laptop. Please tell me whether all such laptops are like that having no compatibility wirh latest linux kernels or my laptop has some problem. Please tell how should I approach service-center. My laptop is in guarantee period still.
