REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES

Dear Sir,

1. With due respect and humble submission I wish to lay down the following few lines for your kind consideration and favourable action please.

2. It is submitted that I am army soldier and has recently been posted to Bhatinda Cantonment after a hectic five consecutive years of service at the Northern Borders with very active field formation in connection with anti-terrorism duties in the valley and followed by-from Aurangabad (Maharashtra).

3. Kindly Reference to my registered letter No 78740/ WSC/Cons dated 25 November which I sent to you on your New Delhi postal address, ie The General Manager, LG Electronics Private Ltd, Bhikaji Cama Bhavan, Bhikaji Cama Palace, New Delhi – 110 066, followed by number of reminders. However, no action has since been taken on my above correspondence and only when I sent my last letter to your Korea office, inviting personal attention of Mr Hwan Yong Nho, the then, Executive Vice President and CEO, LG Appliances (letter No 78740/WSC/Cons dated 20 Jun copy attached herewith, for your ready reference), few executives from your Bombay Branch visited my house at Aurangabad and promised me to resolve the issue (which is yet to be resolved, despite lapse of a span of five years).

4. Sir, I am very fond of LG and am a true fiancée of coveted LG Limited since last ten years or so and have already in possession of fleet of following LG products: -

(a) LG Refrigerator 220 Ltr (Master Piece) - since Jun 1999

(b) LG color Computer monitor - since Jan

(c) LG Color TV (Golden Eye Magic) - since March

(d) Washing Machine (Delight) LG 6 Kg WP-9032 since October.

(e) LG Mobile Hand set G – 1500, since 08 October.

(f) LG Convection Microwave (Intello Cook)- since November.

It is pertinent here to mention here that I am in love of LG Limited since a long.

5. Sir, unfortunately few circumstances accrue and yet again recently, which made me feel cheated once again and the same was not expected from the firm which has such big name in their credits. Apart from the earlier bad experience as narrated at my letter dated 20 Jun as referred above, I again and yet again cheated by the LG Company. The recent grievances caused by the LG Company to this soldier are furnished at subsequent paragraphs.

6. On 03 Jun at about 1715hrs I produced my LG Refrigerator at Authorized Service Centre for Electronics India Pvt Ltd, People Care services, Khaddar Bhandar Street, Bathinda – 151001 (Phone No 0164 – 5006240) for certain minor repairs like gas leakage etc. The service centre kept my refrigerator for a period over a month and only returned the same on 06 July at 1800hrs. At the time of delivery following discrepancies observed which were also informed then and there to the Manager at the agency :-

(a) Deep Freezer’s door latch and Vegetable Tray found broken. After inquiring about the breakages the Manager refused to reconcile the same and rather arrogantly shouted that they have received the fridge in the same condition (in this connection please reference Job Sheet dated 3/6/09, wherein no such breakage is found mentioned).

3

(b) The Service Centre claimed that they have changed the Freezer of the Refrigerator claiming that the same was leaking. However, they have not clarified the same while depositing the Refrigerator for necessary repairs. Furthermore, the so called new Freezer has not found fitted properly and fitted/adjusted somehow. Due to wrong fittings/adjustments, the door is not being closed properly and the same was also remarked by me on the Invoice No H13679/A/2030 dated 6/7/09 (Copy attached for ready reference). Although, they have claimed that the Freezer has been changed, on asking whereabouts of the original freezer they have provided the one which is not I repeat NOT belongs to mine. Due to this (being the wrong fittings of the freezer and the refrigerator door is not being closed), the Refrigerator gets extensively HOT always. I have also compelled to pay heavy repair charges tuning to Rs 2044 (Rupees Two thousand and forty four only). Also refer my following complaints (which were attended by the Service Engineer from the Service Centre and he too remarked in his Job Sheet about WRONG FITTING of Fridge) :-

(i) N-9C-70810748 dated 09/07/09.

(ii) N-9C-71012452 dated 10/07/09.

It is pertinent to mention here that no action has been taken by the LG so far to rectify the above problem at all.

7. We have purchased a 32” LG LCD Television and on the same day the scheme of gift of DVD Player and a 50 Movies DVD Pack absolutely free. The relevant contents of the advertise published in Times of India on the same day is furnished as under for your perusal and scrutiny :-

“With a series of exciting offers for you, the ICC World T20 Tournament will be even more fun. Just buy an LG LCD or Plasma TV and take home a DTH Connection with 6 months subscription”, DVD Player and 50 Movies DVD Pack absolutely free. And that’s not all, you also get an attractive exchange offer on your old CTV. Go for it and cheer for your country”.

8. However, the Authorized CSD Dealer in Bhatinda, M/s Maheshwari Marketing, 46, Near Hanuman Chowk, The Mall, Bathinda (Phone 0164 – 2254203, 2236864, 2235620 and 2251373) denied the above gifts to me and rather gave the excuses like these schemes are not applicable for the purchases made on CSD. Despite number visits and attempts he denied the gifts (mentioned above), which are very much prescribed for every purchases.

9. In the context of above entire episode may I request you to compensate me with the following :-

(Remedies for my earlier application dated 25 Jun) :-

(a) Offer me suitable replacement gift item (bearing the highest price, during that period when the scheme was in vogue) for the another modak, denied to this soldier.

(b) Compensate me Rs 940/- (Rupees nine hundred forty only) towards the balance of cost of gifted glassware set (1, 150/- (-) 210/- = Rs 940/-)

(Remedies for my predicaments as mentioned at Paragraphs 6 (a), (b), 7 and 8 above) :-

(c) Arrange to replace the Freezer, Vegetable Tray, and Door Panel at the earliest.

(d) Arrange to refurbish and repaint the complete Refrigerator (as the refrigerator I received from the firm is of very shabby conditions and lot of scratches/ signs of rough handling has been found on the refrigerator.

(e) Refund me Rs 2, 044/- without any representations and hassles as the same have been levied upon me recklessly.

(f) Arrange to provide the advertised free gifts against the purchase of 32” LG LCD Television.

10. Sir, despite being cheated and compelled to suffer a lot of TRAUMA, I still believe that I will be compensated suitably by the coveted LG Company at this juncture rather than thinking of taking the matter to any other agency like Media, or Consumer Forum ASAP. This will also not only burry all the ill-feelings about the LG amongst we all soldiers but also regain the faith, fame and proud of being the owner of coveted LG products.

REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES

Respected Sir,

1. With due respect and humble submission I wish to lay down the following few lines for your kind consideration and favourable action please.

2. It is submitted that I am a poor soldier and has recently been posted to Aurangabad after a hectic five consecutive years of service at the Northern Borders with very active field formation in connection with anti-terrorism duties in the valley.

3. Sir, I am a true fiancée of coveted LG Limited and have already in possession of following LG products: -

(a) LG Color TV (Golden Eye Magic) - since March

(b) LG Refrigerator 220 Ltr (Master Piece) - since Jun 1999

(c) LG color Computer monitor (Studio - since Jan

2000)

It is pertinent here to mention here that I am in love of LG Limited since a long.

4. Sir, unfortunately few circumstances accrue recently, which made me feel deceived and the episode was not expected from the firm which has such big name in their credits. I have booked following two LG products from your authorized dealer, M/s Saniya Distributors, Soniya Chambers, Aurangabad on 27 September and took them home on

2

08 October during the period when LG Popular Scheme “Ganpati Modak Phodo Enam Pao” on every purchase of LG products was in vogue (Photostat copy of Bill No 2120, attached for your ready reference and perusal please) :-

(a) Washing Machine (Delight) LG 6 Kg WP-9032.

(b) LG Mobile Hand set G – 1500.

But the dealer handed over me only one modak on the pretext that this scheme is valid on only selected products and not on every products, which is not only inappropriate but also very disgusting in the instant episode who knows I could have won a car on the modak denied to me.

5. Furthermore, when the single modak offered to me, it was broken by my son (Nikhil Wagh, age 08 years) and the dealer and his associates and one of my collegue congratulated me that I have won a Milton Eternia TreO glassware set worth a value of Rs 1, 150/- (One thousand one hundred fifty only). A yellow price-slip worth Rs 1, 150/- was also found affixed on Maximum MRP. On reaching home number of my soldier colleagues with their spouses gathered around us to congratulate us on being the proud purchaser of above LG products and also having won a gift worth Rs 1150/-. But the ill episode followed suddenly, when my son removed the yellow slip from the gifted cartoon (Milton TreO Glassware set) and found that the price of that particular item was Rs 210/- (Rupees two hundred and ten only). We (I myself and my wife) feel ashamed and our friends made mockery of us. This was not expected from the coveted LG at all. This incident gave us the feelings of being deceived. I myself feel very disappointed, disgusted and also have the feelings of being cheated by the reputed firm. Our friends who were present over there, also suggested me to protest the matter with Consumer Courts etc but the name and fame of LG prevented me from doing so and I am advancing my predicaments to your favour for redressal.

6. In the context of above entire episode may I request you to compensate me with the following :-

(a) Offer me suitable replacement gift item (bearing the highest price, during that period when the scheme was in vogue) for the another modak, denied to this poor soldier.

(b) Compensate me Rs 940/- (Rupees nine hundred forty only) towards the balance of cost of gifted glassware set (1, 150/- (-) 210/- = Rs 940/-)

7. This will not only will ensure to burry all the ill-feelings about the LG amongst we all soldiers but also regain the faith, fame and proud of being the owner of coveted LG products.

6. Thanking you in anticipation, Sir.

Your’s sincerely,
