I purchased a fridge model GDE19B2 on 17-02-10.They delivered after a week at inconvenient hours of 9PM.The unitwas giving noise &we complained to them but they replied stating it is the usual noise. From 5-12 -11 the unit was not getting cooled&the frequency of on/off was @2-3mts. The mechanic came on 9-12-11.He said thermostat was the problem, told us the existing one may last for 3-4 months & took 250 RS.inspection charges.soon he went, the unit stopped functioning. Again he was called & this time he changed the thermostat at a cost of Rs.400/ but the problem of frequent on/off@2-3 mts.remained the same. when we told him, he simply told us that it"would be"like that only. Again i 'd to make a complaint & this time the mechanic informed us that moisture jam in the compressor & as the compressor is in warranty they may freely change the compressor but gas charges& labour charges Rs.950/-.we told them that ur mechanic failed to diagnose the problem in the first instance itself &we were forced to payRs.400/ for thermostat & now another 950/- is simply unacceptable.
The earlier fridge whirlpool which we had did not trouble us at all even for a day & we didnot had occasions to call their mechanic in a period of 5 years. I repent now why at all i switched to godrej brand. This i had done to help my friend's friend who is in the sales team .we thought godrej is a good family brand & we can exchange this whirl pool
for godrej. But the story turned otherwise.
