Dear Sir,

Finding no other alternative, I write this letter with utter annoyance and very poor impression on Jaipan's dealer management.

I bought a very simple product of electric Iron of Jaipan from one of your dealers O.K. Electronics, at 836/4, Sarat Chatterjee Road, (Talpukur), Howrah-4 on 10.12.2011. Along with a product, I was given a warranty card of Jaipan (valid for one year). After nearly one month (on 8.1.12), my wife tried to iron my daughter’s cotton dress, but she reported both the dress and the bed sheet on which it was tried, had burnt. The same was tried by me, keeping closed observation at the regulator. But this time my MCB tripped. I called my electrician to examine if there was anything wrong in the electrical circuit of my building. And he told, that all your electrical appliances (refrigerator, chimney, T.V., water heater) are running smoothly. So, question of failure in the electrical circuit is pointless.

Immediately after that I reported to the dealer, who after looking at the price of the product (Rs. 400/-), refused to take any responsibility and clearly told me to directly interact with Jaipan for getting any service. When I tried to convince him, I was even humiliated in front of several people.

I’m sending you scanned copies of both cash memo and warranty card looking forward to you for some positive action for the defective product, I was sold.

Finally, I’m very much interested to learn about selection procedure of your dealers. Are your dealers told to misbehave with your customers for low value products? If so, then what is the point of giving warranty to such products? My concern was not the value, but the safety. Would it had not been observed at right time, it could have caused severe damage (malfunctioning of the regulator and hence generating continuous heat without power cut-off). Your dealers must be taught in the right way to acknowledge all your customers’ complaints without giving importance to how costly the product is.

Please send me your feedback.

Best Regards,

Anjan Ghosh
