We have a 850 VA square wave inverter of Microtek. We wanted to get the inverter mains battery wire extended, for which we wanted to call authorised personnel from Microtek. We had tried launching complaint with the Andheri, Mumbai Service Centre of Microtek. Inspite of having 3-4 lines, we were unable to get thru to the numbers for almost 3-4 days. Finally, when we got thru, the personnel refused to register our request, saying we should first talk to the engineer. Once we spoke to the engineer, he again told us to call the service center to register the complaint. Again when we tried to contact the service centre, we were unable to get thru. Finally, when we got thru (compl. no. UPS EB2010 006271 dtd 02/11/10), we were told to get the wire (about which we know nothing) and keep all the materials ready and then call the service centre so the engineer could come. We were not told the size, gauge of wire or anything about the materials, about which we do not have any idea. We were ready to pay for all materials that would be used, but the request was not even listened to. In short, it was total harassment for us. Even 2 days after lodging the complaint, there was no response from the Service Center, after which we gave up and got the job done thru a local electrician, though we would have preferred Microtek personnel to do it. I finally received a call today - 08/11/10, after 6 days of lodging the complaint. I told the engineer that I had got the work done, after which I received a call from Mr. Pradeep Sharma at the service centre. I narrated my whole experience to him and told him why we had to resort to getting the job done thru a local electrician. I further told him that I wanted to lodge a complaint regarding my experience, Pradeep Sharma threatened me, saying next time I lodge a complaint regarding the inverter, they would make sure that no one attended it and I will have to carry it all the way to the service center. This is completely unexpected and unprofessional from a company like Microtek. I then also spoke to the service center manager, Mr. Ranvir Singh, who started defending his people, saying if I had got the work done, I should have informed them in advance so that they did not have to face inconvenience! In the first place, I am the one being inconvenienced due to the shoddy Microtek service, and I should think of Microtek's inconvenience and dutifully inform them in time! This is pathetic level of service and not expected from a so-called reputed brand. I urge Microtek to take prompt action against your customer (dis) service personnel
