I purchased a Nokia E-72 mobile from Hotspots store (Sec.-8 Mkt., R.K. PURAM) on 17/4 (INV. NO.: 108979269).
I was told about a facility which I could avail where in you have a tie-up with HDFC bank and which would allow me to pay the entire amount in interest-free EMI's if I use my HDFC bank credit card. I wasn't told about any hidden costs or Processing fees. Hence, I finally settled on their quoted price without any bargaining considering that "Mobile store" has a similar tie-up and that many other dealers offering better price did not have such facility.
On 10th May, when I had a look at my HDFC bank credit card bill, I was shocked to find that I have been charged Rs 1020/- as processing fees which has been credited to the Merchant (i.e. Hotspots).
It was only after I called Mr. Sushil Srivastava (Sales Incharge of R.K. puram, Munirka & other stores) who himself sold this Set to me, that I was made aware that there is a processing fees of 3.25/ 5.25 % depending on whether I have opted for 3 or 6 Months EMI and that He was himself not aware earlier.
I am feeling kind of cheated and shocked that a big retail firm like Spice could have indulged in such malpractice of misleading the customers. Obviously, no sane person with sufficient credit like me would have opted for such a scheme in the first place had I known all this... and with regards to 3 or 6 months, I was casually asked which one I preferred, and I opted for the latter since there was no apparent difference.
I took up this issue with Mr. Sushil & after discussion over phone wherein he admitted their fault, sent him a complaint at on 10th May itself.
Till Date, I am yet to hear from them to suitably address my concern & Mr. Sushil (Mob.- 9650396867) does not receive anymore calls from my Mobile phone.
What possible action should I take?
Regards.
