Airtel has to be the worst provider of services especially for the Digital TV. I have made a complaint 14 days ago during peak of ICC world cup. The airtel call center/customer services is the most dificult to get through. One has to make complaints between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM else, the calls keep getting cut.
On getting through, they give you a service number and say they will have the problem fixed in a day. No calls for 4 days. After repeated attempted, i get through to the customer service center. I get another service number and was promised that my problems with the receiver would be fixed. Then after 2 days, i get a call from the service personnel. I stated that my box is not working and he says that they have to get a new box and they don't have any in stock and it would take a couple of days. waited patiently for more days.
Finally, I get the someone to replace the box. They says it would cost Rs.300 to change the box which i even agreed to pay. The box is fixed and the person says it takes 2 hours to activate. he then charges me Rs.100 as service charges (which was very strange). I did pay as the promise of watching the ICC world cup was overwhelming. The i get a error message (error code - 14), stating that the view card does not match the set top box. The service person stated that the i would start receiving the signals in 2 hours and left with the Rs.100.
The issue still has not been resolved (29th of March). I tried calling the service person several times but cannot reach them. The number given was 9600008012 (John) has to be the worst service agent.
Now, i'm thinking of canceling aitel dth and getting a tata sky even though i recharged my account in Feb (balance 3400). I feel bad that i had recommended airtel to a lot of people.
