I am Debashis Ghosh have purchased one dining table form the show room of Connection I – Kolkata, The Showroom is in the 2nd Floor of Homeland Mall, at No. 18 B, Ashutosh Mukherjee Road, Bhavanipur, Kolkata – 700020 . Which is a division of Home Solutions Retail (India) Limited, which is a future Group venture, having their Registered office Home Solutions Retail India Limited, Knowledge House, Shyam Nagar, Of Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road, Jogeshwari (East), Mumbai- 400060.
On 2nd January I have paid through my ICICI Bank debit card a sum of Rs. 14, 719 full payment for a dining table with 4 chair Model –Arizona, model code 600366211001 and taken home delivery in non assembled conditioned in a good faith.
But after that I realized the rude behavior of the company. After repeated requesting for installation and fitting of the company man came on 12th January for Installation of the said table. The person who had come for fitting, he tried to fit that table for about 40 minutes but in vain as the main connecting Iron rods of one legs are short and one iron legs of the table is bigger than the other three as a result the table was not standing properly at the floor.
After that that person visited another two times to fit the table but every time he was unable to fix the same due to the manufacturing defect, then he advised me to cut some portion of that leg.
I strongly opposed as I have bought a new dining table not a second hand or a third hand.
In a situation like this I have called the show room and described the matter but the person was answering me that I will send someone who can able to fix the table but no one arrived at my place to install the same then I visited the show room on 27th January and expressed my discomfort with the very table and ask the show room to change the same. They salesman told me that sir that model was the only one so it will not possible to change that very table, Then I ask the showroom to take back the whole model and I will select the other one and the difference will pay and take a new one, The sales man started to say that the model selected by you was the single model so it is not possible to take back that, what we can do only to cut and fixe the legs.
I started arguing with that salesman that the iron legs of that table are made in a factory and if they trying to cut that in my house that may not be like factory finish and in future there may be problems.
Then the salesman tried to convince me that nothing will happen if you not pushed or pull that table, and then I raised my voice for the change of that very dining table.
At that time the manager of that show room had come and literally misbehaved with me and told me that they will not change that product at any cost whatever I can do I may try to do.
In a situation like this where I have paid the full and final amount and till date when I am writing this the dining table is laying in dismantled and packed conditioned in my flat.
Kindly suggest me where I should go to protest this kind of unfair business ethics.
I have already given a cautioned mails in twitter and face book against this company so that any more innocent people like should not trapped in their net again.
I am connecting Indian Consumer complain bureau and trying to make a human chain through cyber technology against this group and their products worldwide and already connected by 950 people.
My next step will be lodged a complaint in the consumer forum against this unfair trade practice and return my money.
