I had visited the company's Bhowanipore shwroom at Home Town in Kolkata regarding a modular kitchen. I was asked to pay Rs 500/- so that a person would come to inspect my flat. At the time of inspection, the gentleman, who is not the designer took the necessary measurements and told us to get the tiles of the floor of the kitchen done. After a week we were called to inspect the drawings and choose the necessary designs. The designer also said that the floor of the kitchen SHOULD REMAIN UNDONE. The latter designed the kitchen after consulting us and also said that should we pay 10% of the total cost on that day in order to avail of a discount of 45% of the total cost. It was 9.30 in the night on a Saturday and the mall had practically closed down. I kept on telling the designer that i was not approving the design. He told me that he would personally visit the site on Monday and do all the necessary modifications. SO I HAD NOT APPROVED OF THE DESIGN. But i was asked to pay 10% of the total cost to avail of the discount and made to sign a paper. The designer did come but i still did not approve of the design and so asked them to refund my money. The designer's senior also initially said that as the design HAD NOT BEEN APPROVED the booking money should not have been taken. But now all of them have back tracked and are saying that since i have signed their paper that is tantamount to approval of their design and so i cannot get a refund.
