Inflated Airtel Broadband billing

Hi

I am Vignesh from Chennai. I had an airtel broadband connection for the past 5 years. I am having very very serious issues in the past 2 years with wrong inflated billing.

My night usage is completely free and there is no limit to it and during day time 1 GB is free. But Airtel keeps me billing for night usage as well.

I got wrong billing for the past 5 consecutive months (June November). The 5th month wrong billing was after i disconnected from Airtel.

Total wrong billing period for the year 2011 is 6-8 months out of 12 moths!

I had disconnected from Airtel broadband during Nov The last day on which i used Airtel broadband was 5 Nov.

Please see my last 5 billing period and the "inflated billing".

The minus indicates that we had balance or adjustments were made for previous wrong billing. The plus sign indicates usage charge and I have to pay that amount

26-Jun-25-Jul = 6, 726.11

26-Jul to 25-Aug = -6, 063.19 (so called adjustments) 6, 726.10 =663.02

26-Aug to 25-Sep 6, 726.12

26-Sep to 25-Oct -12, 702.53 (so called adjustments) 6, 726.11 = -5, 976.42

26-Oct to 25-Nov -5, 976.42 6, 464.33 = 487.91

Bharthi Airtel seems to like "Rs. 6, 726.11" and are always charging me this figure. The amounts mentioned above were debited from my ECS account. The last amount of "Rs.487.91" cannot be debited as I had canceled the "ecs" payment option.

For Oct-Nov billing period, I had used internet from "28-Oct-5-Nov" but they billed my usage charge as "Rs. 6, 464.33".

Everytime when I contact Airtel regarding this, they say they will resolve it ASAP. But in the consecutive months, they keep billing me "Rs. 6, 726.11 " or more than that.

During the course of these "5 months", many people right from ICICI bank people (where my ECS account is), other consumers all advise me to cancel ECS option and disconnect from Airtel. The ICICI bank employee went ahead and told me that this issue is being faced by many people across Chennai. My friends tell me they are facing the same inflated billing across 'Tamil Nadu".

The airtel people owe me over Rs.11, 000.

My Sincere advise to all the readers of this site is

"Please do not go for Airtel broadband connection" and Please spread or share this message with your friends via sms, facebook, orkut, mail etc.

"Har Ek Indian ko Airtel connection se remove karna jarrui hai"
