Disconnection of landline

I want to disconnect my landline no.0129-4086659, i have paid bill also and went to nearest office of airtel in sector-15 mkt. faridabad, i met mr. Ravinder their, he told me to submit disconnection letter with ID and do so but he refused to submit . i don't know why?
