HP Globalsoft - Deducted income tax from PF amount without any proper deduction sources. Wrote the deduction amount with pen when rest of the documents is printed. No proper reply from one year in spite of my many emails and letters to them. Karnataka

I worked as software engineer for HP, Bangalore from 18/11-19/05 (3 1/2 yrs); After leaving the company I applied for my PF amount and requested for an a/c payee cheque. I sent all the required forms to

Through email they confirmed my PF amount as Rs.126, 585/- (Rupees One Lakh twenty six thousand five hundred and eighty five only).

But they sent me a cheque of only Rs. 90, 850 (Rupees Ninety thousand and eight hundred fifty only) along with a statement. According to their statement, the total PF amount is Rs.1, 30, 908/- (Rupees One lakh thirty thousand nine hundred and eight only) i.e., Employee's Rs. 79, 196/- Employer's Rs. 51, 712/- From that they deducted an amount of Rs.40058/- (Rupees Forty thousand and fifty eight only). They have written the deduction of Rs. 40058/- and Net amount of Rs. 90850/- with ink when the rest of all the document is printed.

There are no proper details of income tax deduction. They just wrote "Less IT." When asked for the explanation, they asked me to inquire with income tax department.

Despite of so many requests through letters-posts, emails, phones, there is no proper response from 2 years. There asked us to send a letter requesting refund when my uncle personally contacted them. I did so, but there is no reply till now. Due to their negligence in responding properly I am not able to apply for IT return also.

I clarified the same with EPFO SRO bangalore and they too replied after 3 months (when I mailed them multiple times). They asked me to speak to HP PF trust. If any one knows the solution for this, please help me.
