Broadband not working and poor response from Airtel

Hi,

My name is Krishna and I’m an Airtel customer. My fixed landline number is 04442803418.

I’m mailing with respect to a complaint that I raised on 07-Aug at around 1:30 PM (Complaint #: 1944160). This is regarding my broadband not functioning properly.

[If you have a history of complaints raised, you will notice that this is my third complain this month (Complaint 1#: 49141052 and Complaint 2 #: 1391052). For both these complaints, I had no timely resolution or proper updates on when the issue will be resolved. Even though I received messages on my mobile about them being resolved, in reality they were not.]

A technician came to my house and inspected the connection / modem. He informed my folks at home (I was not available at home) that the modem has to be replaced and that I have to talk to come vendor to get it organized. After I reached home, I called the technician (Name: Saravanan, Mobile: 9940017237) to get more details, but his phone was switched off. Then, I called Airtel Customer Care to get more details. I was told by them that the process has been changed and that I have to talk to a vendor for modem replacement and pay the charges accordingly. I was extremely surprised to hear this and wanted to speak to the supervisor. They said they will and I was put on hold, but never connected. This happened more than 4-5 times. The next time I called the customer care, the recorded voice tells me that my number is “barred”.

Regarding modem replacement: I had my modem replaced recently (in the month of April / May – a refurbished one) by an Airtel technician because the earlier modem was not functioning properly. This time again, if there is a modem fault, I expect Airtel to take care of it. Why should I talk to a vendor, explain all of this again and pay the charges when I do not even own the modem!? I’d like to talk to someone from Airtel who can explain this to me better. As I am unable to call Airtel, I’d appreciate if someone from Airtel can call me.

For almost a month, I’m having a partially functioning broadband line and I’m really unhappy. Also, Airtel customer service has been very poor and no suitable action has been taken to rectify any of the concerns. I’m extremely disappointed with your service. If no action is taken, please proceed with disconnection of the line (which is anyway not working).
