Recently I shifted from Kerala to Chennai and I had taken Internet connection from Airtel using airtel dongle with unlimited monthly plan. My internet services got suspended saying that they could not verify my address. I had submitted my rental contract as address proof. Later after making several calls to the customer care and sending several mails too, they said the problem can be solved if I go to the Airtel Relationship Centre (Kodambakkam) from where I had taken the postpaid sim for internet. I went there and they gave me a new sim card and said address verification for the same would be done in 2 days. Once again I submitted my rental contract copy, ID proof and alternate contact number. Also I dropped a cheque of Rs 855.20 at their drop box there for my first sim bill (which I hardly used for 10 days). From the next day onwards I called those people asking to come for verification, almost a week I continuously called them and then they were telling that somebody came came for verification the next day after I took the new sim and again my address verification was negative. When I asked why nobody called me before coming, they said my number was not in use (I am still using the same number). Second time, they again suspended my internet connection. Again they are asking to visit their office and submit address proof and ID card, which I had already submitted twice. Also I got a mail from Airtel saying that I did not pay my first sim bill. I called them saying the details of my cheque (cheque number and date). They seem to have lost my cheque. I have never seen such irresponsible customer care in my life. Now I don't have internet connection at home, and they keep sending me bills without resuming my net connection. For the sim they have already suspended, they are giving some additional charges. Also when I called the nodal officer, Tamil Nadu for help, he gave me address of Airtel office which was not working. Altogether, I should say Customer care people are very bad here and do not take care of the customer at all, and cause a lot of inconvenience too. I had to spare my time and money unnecessarily twice to visit Airtel Office for getting my internet connection back, which they hav'nt done inspite of all calls, mails and visits yet. All I get is some bills to the same address which they say cannot be verified.
