Late delivery of consignment

Dear sir,

Please note that we have booked a consignment from cuttack to new delhi on 2 oct.from overnite express due to urgency of airforce day. Overnite express assured us to make delivery in 4 to 5 days. As an urgancy they said they will charge us 50/- per k.g. Now we got a call on 11 oct. today that we have received your packed and sending to you. Now airforce day has been crossed. Tell what we can do. they are asking topay Rs. 4000/-. If we know before that will get this consignment in 10 days then why should we book from overnite @ 50/- k.g, Even ordinary tranport gives delivery in 7 to 10 days and charging only 6 ot 7 rs per k.g. Please advice us what we can do now?
