Hi,

I am Kavita stays in Pune. I had gone to Ratnagiri for 3 days and arrived Pune Today (30th June) at 5:10 AM. We got down at Swargate. We hired a auto rickshaw for Wanowrie (Kedari Garden) from Swargate. When we arrived the destination the meter reading was 7.00. I asked driver how much I have to pay. He said whatever you pay usually. I calculated the bill according to new tariff i.e. 7*7 3 = 52 50% night charge. But he said we are taking 10Rs/km. I argued that according to new tariff it is 10 Rs for first km and then 7Rs/km for subsequent km. Then he showed us a tariff card according to which for 7 km it was 98 Rs. I was doubted that card was fraud. But since it was early morning time I paid him 150 RS (98 50 (night charge)) for 7 km meter reading.

Even though RTO has raised new tariff, the auto rickshaw drivers are not charging according to new tariff. We always end up paying extra charges to them. The tariff card they shows are manipulated by them and they are charging whatever they want. There must be some rule which ensures that auto rickshaws are charging us according to new tariff and the new tariff should be known to each and every people who are using rickshwas. Many time people end up in paying more money because they don't want to argue with these people and these drivers are taking advantage of them.
