I took an auto regn. no. : MH43 C 4957 from Coral Crest Nerul (East) in Navi Mumbai on Monday, March 29. On boarding the auto I told the auto driver that I need to go to Point B and back. He straight away refused and said I will just drop you there and not get you back. This was even if I paid him more. He further said that I cannot wait for such short distances.
The general public rely on public transport for various reasons, a person may have to take his/her aged parent to the hospital, some one has to pick their child from the school, but these errant autorickshaw drivers now a days behave arbitarily as they feel like.
The very idea of using public transport gets wasted if the passengers needs are not met. They are very self centered and hence they dont want to ply short distances.
They will go on a strike leaving passengers like you and me with no help on a sunny day. So I strongly urge the officials to take strict action against such errant auto drivers.
