Dear sir
Recently i took an autoriskha from close to Thane Railway station to Tikujiniwadi. the metere fare at tikujiniwadi showed it as Rs.4.60 which as per the latest tariff card works out to Rs. 58/- However, the Autoriksha driver took out a tariff card from his pocket and told me that the fare was Rs. 84/- I asked him from where he had got the tariff card. He did not reply to the same. Since i had a cutting of the tariff card published by the Thane RTO in the times of india, i was lucky not to have been fooled. I took the tariff card from him and tore the same as it was an in-correct tariff card. The riksha driver did not protest to my tearing the said card, which clearly shows that he took a chance to cheat me. Had it been some other passanger who did not have the tariff card, the auto driver would have easily cheated the passanger.
It is my humble request to the RTO officers that a tab be kept on the Auto drivers so that they do not cheat people by charging rates as per the fake tariff card.
