Fake card statement

I used to have a the then UTI Bank Credit Card which I surrenderred only after clearing the due payment & in return got the Bank Manager's signature on the Reciept letter. But still they'r sending monthly statement with no details mentioned. I wonder why they let me surrender my card & sign on the Reciept letter if I had outstanding payment!! And no body picks up their customer care phone!!
