RENEWAL OF DEBIT CARD

Dear Sir,

This is with reference to letter received from M/s Axis Bank with respect to renewal of debit card which got expired on July. The renewal request has been sent to me without seeking permission from me. While going through the finer points of the manual of renewal debit card usage guide, it is reflected that the tariff sheet for the same is as follows:

Issuance Fees: Rs.95.00

Annual Fee: Rs.100.00

Card Replacement Charges: Rs.100.00

Duplicate Pin: Rs.50.00

As the renewal of the card carries above mentioned charges, we have tried contacting their consumer lines in Mumbai and Delhi but to my utter dismay they have responded that you have to go to your respective branch for withdrawl of services. My Humble request is that since I had not requested for the above mentioned services, the bank should have sought my consent after clarifying the fee strucuture for renewal of card.

Here I would also like to highlight that my Father had gone to the Lajpat Nagar Branch of Axis Bank for discontinuation of the services, here to our dismay he was not entertained despite hte fact that all branches are core banking. They coldly told us to go to Connuaght Place for cancellation of charges other the same would be charged.

I have tried calling to the their customer care numbers but to my utter dismay have not get any help.

I ghereby appeal to the Consuemr Forum to take up the matter seriously with the Axis Bank and ensure that the service get discontinued and I am not charged any fees for the same as i had not requested renewal of card.
