Late payment charges rs-600

My credit card min amt due was 2040 till dt 9/11, i had dropped the ch of rs 2100/ on 8/11 in drishti eye centre box on 8/11, but still the bk charged me rs-600 as late payment fees in the december statement received, when contacted to customer care, he said he cant reverse the charge
