On 17th Feb, got a call from your executive called me and informed me that my cheque is bounced, reasons unlnown, probably lack of funds. I asked him to send the cheque to me immediately. He further informed me that I should pay immediately to avoid any further inconvenience. I agreed to pay in a day or 2.
On 19th evening I called up your call centre to check on the status of bounced cheque and the reason for the same. He was unaware. I confirmed the exact amount to be paid is Rs. 512. he confirmed. I further enquired if this does not imply any late payment charges or interest. But to my surprise he said that it would attract late payment charges as the payment was not received on time. (However the cheque bouce reason till then were unknown, sure there was no shortage of funds). I argued that the mistake is not mine neither this was done intentionally, but he kept arguing and was unable to reverese the late payment charges. Finally I informed him that I am settlinmg my payment with what ever is my purchase value and wish to close my card immediately, to which he still denied even closing my card. Stating the the card cant be close till the full amount is not paid. Hence I informed him that I am depositing a fresh cheque of Rs.513 immediately and I want my card to get discontinued. And hanged up.

On 21st Feb 09 I received letter from Barclays regarding the bounced cheque along with the cheque. The letter stated that " we regret to... is invalid for the reason Mistake Not Signed." However the cheque had my initials at the place at which changes were done. Sadly this cheques was not even deposited in bank and was returned.
1) If cheque was supposed to be returned without depositing, why was I not informed immediately on 12th or 13th when you received the cheque.
2) When the cheque was dated 14th feb 09, why give me a call on 17th and asking to make freash payment.
Your letter also had secong para stating "Please arrange to send us a fresh cheque for the afforsaid amount in lieu of the above mentioned cheque within 10 days from the date of receipt of this letter." Which means I coulod give you fresh cheque by 2nd march (10 days from 21st Feb). Your letter also did not mention anything about late payment charges in such scenario.
In the subsequent atatement of 26th feb 09, there was no mention of the earlier payment and to my surprise thewe were late payment fees of Rs. 600/- (this was ridiculas to see Rs 600 LPF for the actual purchase was Rs. 513/-), it also had Interest and service Tax.
Hence I called up your call centre one more time to bring the facts to their notice. But unfortunately the guy was completely unable to understand the situation and he denied to reverse the LPF & Interest under any circumstances. (I found the guy to be helpless and dumb, as your call centre executives are not equipped to make the decisions nor was he ready to connect me to any of his seniors), So I informed him that I had already informed to the call centre to cancel my card and I will not be making any further payment on this. They kept arguing with me and he pointed to me that this call is getting recorder. This was my delite, and I asked him to escalate this call to his senior. And I restated that I will not pay up.
Next month March 09, I got yet another statement, which meant that the card was yet functional. Hoever it had a mention of payment done in Feb. The cheque deposited on 20th feb was getting reflected on 28th Feb clearance???
But the statement also had Interest component and also mentioned Latepayment fees for earlier statement. I called your call centre again, this time the conversation was not different at all, same unability to understand and same baseless arguments. NO REASULT. Finally I told the lady to connect your settlement guys with me, where I can sit face to face and finish the matter. To which she denied saying the I need to pay in totality. And kept the phone. Conversation over.
Ever since then I must have received several sms asking for payments, and several call (at least 12 to 15) from your collection agents, in the initial time I used to respond to your SMS by calling on the number given or accept the phone call of your collection agents and narrate them the whole incident again and again. But nobody had any solution.
I am sick and tired of this repetition. And if this does stop immediately I might have to take some legal action against your bank or report to consumer forum.
If you consider my past histort of payment and being the Priority Circle card holder, I assumed thta I might be treated differently.
Request you to close this issue asap and send me the letter regarding the same.
