Refusal of new Connection by Distributo

Hello,

We have recently moved to Vile Parle (E) and we approached Bharat Gas distributor in Vile Parle (E), Rahul Gas for a new connection.

The owner of the distributorship Mr. M.P. Chaudhari asked me to purchase some other goods while applying for a new connection.

When I mentioned that I am in no need of any other products like Cooking Oil, Pressure Cooker etc and I only need a new connection, I was told that without buying anything addition a new connection wont be provided.

When I asked if this was a Bharat Gas rule, he refused to confirm this and also could not provide any notice that supported this demand.

His staff acknowledged that this was not officially needed and depends on each distributor. The Bharat Gas website also mentions that it is not mandatory to buy a cooking stove from the distributor.

Mr. Chaudhari even asked me to get a Bharat Gas official to call him if I wanted to have the connection without buying anything else from him.

I was surprised by the attitude of this distributor towards the consumer.

I am sure this is not in accordance with the way Bharat Gas wants to treat their customers.

Can you please ensure that action is taken against this distributor and we are provided a new connection?
