Non Updation of Insurance Premium in Policy Account

Background - I had invested with Birla Sunlife Insurance Co. Ltd (BSLI) in their plan - classic life in the year 2005. The insurance premium was Rs.25000 p.a and mode of premium was annual. During the 2nd year when the renewal premium got due, i made a payment to the company by cheque. The company issued me a receipt on deposit of premium cheque. However during the year 2007 the company sent me a policy account statement in which only one premium that i paid got reflected rather than 2 premiums. I made an attempt to contact the company officials at its branch at Nagpur to understand the loop. However even after repeated attempts of getting things resolved till date i haven't yet received the credit for the premium that i had deposited with the company.
