I am visiting Bangalore from California. My husband wanted a calling card to call the US from Mumbai. I called the BSNL Malleshwaram office and explained the situation to the lady to answered the phone.
Ms. Nagamani (the lady who answered the phone) informed me that I could purchse the BSNL ITC card that could be used by my husband to call from an MTNL landline to call the United States. So I drove down to the office and purchased the card worth Rs 500 tax of Rs 62. While buying the card I asked Ms Nagmani again if I could use the card from Mumbai and she reconfirmed.
I brought the card home and tried calling but the call didnt go thru..so I called the helpline. After speaking to 7 different customer services, I was told that I could use the card only from a BSNL landline!!
I went back to the BSNL office and complained to the SDE Ms Rohini.
Their solution to this situation after admitted that it was a mistake on their part was:
A) Peddle the card to someone else..maybe to some friend or relative!!
B) Use a PCO to call the US!
There was utter chaos and miscommuniation in the office.
Please DO NOT BUY THE BSNL CALLING CARDS. They are out to cheat the people
