I moved to Nagpur in March and subsequently got a new BSNL landline with phone number (0712) 2226037. My first bill was for Rs 746.00 which included mainly the installation charges and it was paid up immediately.

I received my second bill on 21/5 with following details -

Bill No. : T0705200917111492Y

Period: 1/4 to 30/4

Opening meter reading: 0

Closing meter reading: 28804

Free cals: 50

Net chargeable calls: 28754

Amount payable: Rs. 32081.00

This is a residential line and to best of my knowledge we have not made more than 50 calls during the whole month. There is obviously some error in metering/billing but after browsing the entire BSNL site and calling a few customer care numbers I have failed to get any information or even talk to any person because the lines are always busy. I have no option but to go to the BSNL office in person and enquire about the issue.
