I have a desktop PC Dell - Vostro - 200 bought with a genuine Win XP Home edition.
After the immediate (1 year) expiration of the desktops 'Warranty', the DVD ROM has stopped detecting CDs (audio cds, writable cds, Video Cd's). But the DVDs are working fine. Mind you that these Cds are not pirated or bought from any black market.
After calling Dell customer care 5 times in a row, every time i was compelled to hold the line for like 10 to 15 minutes and ultimately i cut the phone gettin fed up of waiting.
At times i was lied to by the callers saying "there are no waiting calls in the line sir. your call will be the first one for them"!!!
Is there no after sales provision of service for dell customers?
Expecting some kind of positive response from the company.
