Hi,
I have enrolled myself for Post graduate course in packaging this year... the total sum of fees is rupees One lakh for two years full time course.
I was asked to pay Rs. 50000/- initially before the college starts. However I managed to pay Rs. 30000/- only. After I paid this amount to the college, I met with an accident and broke my RIGHT elbow. I was operated for multiple fracture (second degree fracture)... After two weeks of my accident the PG course commenced.
My doctors have advised complete rest as the fracture is of complicated nature. However I attended the second day of college (since I had already paid the fees) where a brief introduction to the course was discussed. But I wasn't comfortable the whole day in college as I had terrible pain in my arms. Doctors advised complete rest for atleast two months (I have a valid medical certificate).
After attending college i realized that i will not be able to pursue this course as it has a lot of physical activity (like welding and lab experiments). This all requires hand work. My doctors have mentioned that i may have restricted hand movements only. Hence I approached the principal to discuss the same.
He said that i could continue with the course next year. But my issue is that I will not be able to use my hands (that too right hand). I requested him for a refund. But he clearly denied. He said that it has been mentioned on the receipt that fees once paid will not be refunded.
Please tell me what to do? my case is genuine. I have already spent a lot of money in my treatment. I had taken loan from my friend for studies. I am not working too. PLEASE ADVISE...! (can there be a medical exception for refund of fees?)... I am in huge debt... Please help!
Thanks & Regards,
Neetu
