Subject: Non supply of water to EG Block Inderpuri
Dear Sir,
I would like to bring to your kind attention to the unending plight of the residents of EG Block, Inderpuri, New Delhi especially EG 45, 46, 47, 48 & 49 (which are on the tail end of the street and the pipeline of water is terminated there) who are not getting a single drop of water since the last 20 days and still counting, due to irregular and disturbed water supply.
In spite of our repeated representations, the officials of Delhi Jal Board have been fooling around quite religiously. Though, as discussed with you over the phone call dated 21.4. I developed a faith in your assurance, and I have been keeping in touch with Mr. D.K. Chauhan to know the latest progress. It was assured to supply of water through tanker as and when the need arises till the regular water supply is resumed. The tanker came to our doorstep for 3 days at a convenient time when the office goers residents were available to get the benefit of water supply.
But the misleading play of the emergency water supply began soon as for the next 2 days no water tanker came over even after making repeated requests to them. Though they stated that it had been sent and would reach shortly but never reached us. Only on Sunday the 26.4.2009 on my special request, the tanker came to our rescue.
Yesterday (28.4.2009), the water tanker came at around 2.30pm when no body was available at home to carry water buckets except my school going brother. The driver of the tanker (No. DL1M-0451) misbehaved with him and took away the tanker while the water was running through out in the process of filling up the buckets. This was not sufficient and the ZE Mr. Mohammad Salim when approached over the phone to inform him about the incident, he too behaved very rudely and did not give any attention rather advised to remain at home to get water as it is our headache and DJB is not at all concerned with our presence to use tanker facility as per our need. We had clearly mentioned at the Emergency Cell to send the tanker after 7pm.
From the position explained above you will find that how we are being treated and living a miserable life without water with no fault of ours.
We have been disappointed by the attitude of the people in the Delhi Jal Board and due to their non-sympathetic and non-cooperative behavior.
As I have full faith in your command and efforts I, on behalf of the residents of EG Block, therefore, request you to kindly look into the situation and instruct the concerned department to provide water tanker regularly between 7pm to 8pm) to us till the proper water supply is restored.
