Detail of complaint: Above battery was purchased to use for house hold inverter (Microteck 800VA). After

about 11 months (i.e. With in Warranty Period) of use, the battery was found malfunctioning and it was not able to give back up during power failure. The battery was then taken to above authorised dealer, from whom battery was purchased, for free replacement as per terms of warranty. The Authorised dealer kept the battery with him and informed me that the same will be checked at his end. After retaining the battery for one week the dealer informed me that the battery was ok & there was no problem with the battery and suggested me that there may be problem in my inverter, which needs to be repaired. Then I took back the battery and tried to get the inverter checked / repaired. The service technician for inverter, available at Bongaigaon, kept the inverter for one week for checking, but he was unable to detect any defect with the inverter. Then the technician informed that it is beyond his capacity to find out defect, if any, due to non availability of proper instrument with him, and he suggested that the inverter should be sent to Guwahati for proper checking / repair if required. Accordingly he sent the inverter to service centre at Guwahati. The inverter after proper checking at Guwahati was received back by me after another 15-20 days, informing me that the inverter was OK. But strangely, on fitting the inverter with the above battery, it was found that the battery was still not giving the back up during power failure. The battery was further checked by me by connecting another good / working inverter of my friend to the battery, which reconfirmed malfunctioning of the battery.By this process the warranty period of 12 months had just elapsed. The matter was immediately brought to the notice of the above AUTHORISED DEALER and he was informed about the non functioning condition of the battery since its first time returning to him during the warranty period. He than agreed with the fact that the battery was not OK since the time of its initial returning to him, but refused to replace the battery telling that warranty period had just elapsed by that time and he needs to talk to the company for action towards replacement. All the time of asking him about the status, he informed me that he could not talk to Company due to one reason or other and asked me to enquire later. After about one more month of doing so, finally he informed me that nothing can be done since warranty period is over.

This is very much disgusting situation, as by purchasing product from a very reputed company like EXIDE BATTERY, we are put to suffer a grave situation like this. This is clear cut situation of misleading and cheating by above AUTHORISED DEALER.
