I had a very bad experience with an auto driver this morning. I took the auto at 8:40am from opp the Ulsoor Gurudhwara via Ulsoor market road to drop my son in school which is behind the Sony showroom in 12 th main signal, Indiranagar. There was just a 2 min wait at the maximum as usual and then drop back opp to the Ulsoor Gurudwara. The traffic during this time usually not too high and I never had to stop at any traffic signal either. The usual fare to and fro that I incur twice everyday is Rs 48 – Rs 49 only. The fare in the auto that I took on 26/02 at the same time came to
Rs 55.50 and when I told him about his faulty meter and the usual amount that I pay auto’s... he started speaking arrogantly, raising his voice and said “This is my meter and I don’t care how many auto’s you take and what there fare might be, you have to pay what my meter says. He forced me to pay the amount and said I could complain to anyone I wanted and he didn’t care about the consequences”. He also said “You can see the registration no from the front better, take it down and do what you can.”
I kindly request the concerned people to take action immediately on the auto bearing the registration no KA-08-a-6889 who has harassed me and will continue to do so till checked. It is a very threatening experience for any woman who is travelling alone who are dependent on such arrogant auto drivers to move around who show no respect and are dishonest.
