I wanted to upgrade my 1GB laptop to 2GB, I did a research for this a few weeks and then finally i discussed with one of the front office person with futurstic computers and she told me the 1GB ram costs 1500/- Rs, so I thought that this would be the best deal from a reputed shop as I would replace my 1GB (i.e 2pcs of 512mb) in the By Back scheme and instead pay extra amount i.e 2000Rs/- and i went to Futuristic Computers in Atria Mall in Worli.
My laptop was opened by the shop engineer and the two 512 MB rams were removed, and the store manager Husein said he did not have a stock of a single 2GB ram, instead he said u can take 1 GB ram 2 pieces and also took my laptops 512MB rams and charged me 2800 Rs/- for buying both the single 1 GB rams.
Note :- I was told 1 GB ram costs 1500 Rs/- each ram.
After the deal I thought like i was cheated as i was charged for buying both the 1 GB rams 2pcs for 2800 Rs, as i already had 1 GB ram in my laptop.
I then called the front office representative, she told me she would discuss with the store manager and get back to me, but there was no reply. I then called the store manager Husein to my surprise he tries to convience me saying the cost of 1GB ram costs 5000Rs/- MRP, "where on earth would u by a ram like this, I guess that must be made of gold then". and then said that UR 1 GB ram is obselete and is of no use, the RAMS were of HP Laptop new which was purchased 6 months back.
Finally I got hold of the manager he told as he knew there was some misundersatanding "cheating" going on by the store manager as he would reuse my rams, I told the manager I need my 1 GB rams back, he said u can take it back, second day i went to the shop and collected my 1 GB ram back, but I did not get any BY Back It was a lost deal.
How can shops keep such irresponsible managers who tries to fool the customers, thinking the customer is a fool.
