This is Seshan Iyer from Baroda. I had purchased my new Aveo Ltd edition in the month of October.
This car is usually driven within city limits and for 30kms a day.
I have been to mumbai twice on this car.
After my first visit to Mumbai i noticed an abnormal sound on the steering side which was told to the service guy at the time of first service but this was said to be okay. This was at 1500 kms.
Then i drove this vehicle wherein the noise aggravated and when i put this vehicle for 5000kms service i was told that the LH strut and rh rear shochers are defective. This was changed but the noise would not go.
They found the stabiliser link to be defective and changed that. I was told that the problem is resolved but i could still get weird noises in the front and the rear.
After about 300 kms the noise aggravated and this time the kaliper also made some abnormal noise whivch was attended to and the stabiliser link was also said to be defective and changed.
A typical noise from the rear persisted for which your team did lot of R&D and found that the sheet metal welding inside the boot area is defective and gave squeaking noise. This was hammered using a puch and said that this is rectified.
But i am still facing a problem in noise.
The ride comfort is poor and not like an AVEO at all. I feel that the service guys are taking me for a ride.
I am an Mechanical Engineer with Elective Automobile Engineering and have experience with heavy earth moving vehicles as i myself was a service emgineer in Larsen and Toubro for their range of machines. I know that the vehicle is not in good shape.
I sincerely request you to please test frive the car when you are in baroda or get thos thoroughly inspected by some expert other than the service mechanics. They just dont want to hear and understand the problem.
The problems faced are
- noise when the car goes up or down a speed breaker
- ticking noise when the car moves up or into a pit
- noise from the front steering or suspension side
- poor ride quality
