On a recent visit to Atria Mall I saw the Shoe Tree Outlet and some interesting looking shoes. The Sales men were good, in getting me to try the new international range of Goex and they explained how super comfortable, long lasting, all weather durable etc. they were. I bought a black formal pair. This was on Thursday 29th May.
To my utter horror my right shoe front opened up within 2 days of wearing/purchase!!! I was completely shocked and upset. I called the Shoe Tree Store on Monday 2 June and the Sales Man asked me to come in with the shoes for an immediate replacement. But when I called to confirm that I will go, they said there was no stock. I follwed up for 3 weeks and got a replacement as I called the HO of the main retailer for India in Delhi.
I usually only buy my shoes abroad as I like good quality leather at a decent price. I was very happy to find Goex here, even though I felt the price steep as compared to what I would pay abroad.
The manufacturing defect was ridiculous and I hope it is not a reflection of the quality of shoes that is being imported in to India (made in China). Am sure they would not have such basic issues with shoes going to Europe/ North America as it would kill their brand.
I have requested the main agency in India to take up the issue with Geox Italy.
