Not Changing the Statement Date

While filling the Form for the credit card, it was told that once i receive the card, i have to talk to the customer care, and then they would change the statement date of the card.

After i received the card, i came to know that the statement date of the card is 8th of every month i.e. 28th is the due date. I want the statement date to be 15th of every month, so that the due date could be 5th of every month, so that i can pay once i receive my salary. So, I talked to the customer care and they said that i have to send a fax to Chennai at and they would do the needful. I did accordingly, but they didn't responded. When i again talked to the customer care, they said that it cannot be changed. So what i want to know is that why wasn't i told before about the same. Where the problem lies?

why every time i call the customer care and hear different reasons for the same.

Please look into the matter.
