Honda Unicorn
Rotten & leaking petrol tank

Hello,

I purchased Honda Unicorn 3.5 years back, from Sterling Honda, Chinchwad (Pune).

Recently the petrol started leaking from the tank. I took it to the service station and found that the bottom of hte tank is completly rotten and beyond repairs. I hardly drive my bike in rains and still this happened. I have a hero honda CD 100, which never had such a problem in past 12 years.

The service engineer at Sterling took pictures of the tank and said he will send them to the head office and let me know within a week. Now I received a call saying that the main office (Mr. Prashant Shinde) rejected to take any action since the bike is out of the guarantee period.

If the tank gets rotten in 3 years, should the bike become a piece of junk in total 5 years? When I paid 54 thousand rupees, I expected a quality product from Honda stable. What I got in return is a shitty rotten piece of junk.

I want to pull Honda motorcycles India in the Consumer court for selling such a substandard product. Can somebody please tell me how to approach Consumer court and what will be the charges? There are many people like me, who are suffered and need justice. (many many bad reviews on this bike on www.mouthshut.com)

Please advise,

Rahul Deshpande ([email protected])
