I am pasting the letter here which i send to hyundai company but till the date i am not recieving any reply from dealer as well as from company also except the confirmation of letter recieved please adivise me what to do?

Dear Sir

I am one of your customers from last more than 10 years and having 3 santros and one sonata at my home, last year I purchased one santro vehicle no.- GJ-1-HL-8332 from one of your dealer planet Hyundai AHMEDABAD, my car complete just 17000 and some more kms in one and half year, from last three days I feel that that my rear wheel get jammed and not rotating smoothly, I call planet and talk about that but they don't send anybody due to heavy rush in their workshop anyway I bring my vehicle to their work shop and ask them to check the problem they open both rear wheels and told me that there is some problem in rear brake shoes when I ask that my vehicle is in warranty period they told me that brake shoes are a wear n tear part so that company Is not providing any warranty on that, I ask why this problem arise he told me that it is very normal problem in Hyundai in rainy season if you apply hand brake the brake shoes and pad get separate I shock to know that how he can inform me like this and if it is so harmful to use handbrake in rainy season than company have to write in their service manual, my all three shoes are perfectly ok only one shoes and pad get separate due to manufacturing fault of gum pasting

Any way I ask them replace the shoes and inform them to place the old shoes in my car, they refused to do so they told me that it is not in their policy to return the replaced part to the customer, they have to submit old material to the store than only storekeeper issues the new part. I again shocked how can they perform like that with customer they are not doing charity after taking full payment with the customer how they refuse to return old part to customer I complain about that to their senior supervisor than he write a remark than only I can get my old barkeshoes (but that is not a regular practice generally they do not provide old part to customer) after that they started fitting brake shoes with the help of hammer, a box spanner and a screw driver only I ask that don't you have any pneumatic tool and torque wrench to open and tightened the wheel they said no we don't have and he try to convince me that man power is more than any pneumatic or torque wrench now I decided to take this matter to the company because this is more than enough

After that when they fit new shoes the wheel is still not rotating smoothly when I complain again they second time open the wheel and rub the new shoes with emery paper after that also wheel is not rotating smoothly I again complain after that third time they open the wheel and fit another new set of liner in my car

At the time of billing I find the rate printing on the box of set of brake shoes (part no.58305-02a00) is just rs 1120 inclusive of all taxes but they charge rs 1425.92 15% vat = 1639.80 aprox and the labor charged rs 150 instead of rs 100/- as displayed in their workshop (company labor schedule board) after that I don't tell them any thing I paid the complete bill and take this matter to you

Now you have to decide

If this Is regular problem of rainy season than you are requested to advise your customers to not to use hand brakes in rainy season

I know brake shoes are wear and tear part but this happen only because of manufacturing problem ie shoes and pad get separate of only one shoes

I come to know from their work shop that in this season they replace brake shoes of many santro due to this same problem you are requested to go through matter and try to solve this problem for ever because I am driving santro from last 9 years and this is the first time when this kind of problem occurs this is fault of gumming/pasting only

Please ask your dealers strictly to return all replaced parts to their customers

If you need I can send complete set for your inspection so that you can take decision to take that in warranty or not

My vehicle Is in warranty period than also dealer charged 1.5 times to replace the brake shoes from me (ie rs 150 instead of company schedule of rs 100)

they don't have particular tools to open and tightened the wheels sech as numetic spanners torque wrench etc they work with the help of hammer and screw diver only like roadside garages (I don't know how they are running authorized workshop of company like you)

they take signature on blank service feed back form at the time of paying bill without giving any time to take trial by customer of his repaired vehicle

now you are requested to take this matter seriously and try to refund the part along with its labor charges which is charged by planet Hyundai I f you need I can send the part to your for your inspection
