ICFAI University
ICFAI Illegally violates PG Rules Injuring Credit Card Payers

As a social responsibility, I have used my HSBC credit Card Online ending with 6663 for the Admission Registration Payment on behalf of a neighbor Student named Niladri De (His ICFAI enrolment number 9415003398).

However, on 28.02.09 the Payment Gateway Transaction for ICFAI failed due to defective ICFAI website/database error and an online notice on the same website indicated “due to server problem all transactions on that date failed and the time has been extended to a later date”.

Therefore, my credit card should not have been debited by ICFAI for a failed transaction nor I have received any confirmation for the same transaction but error indicated on the PG website. It is to be noted that other than the intended purpose (said Registration) ICFAI can not debit my card account for any other purpose/s where this debit problem making the fact more complicated as ICFAI is taking the advantage out of the students as the credit cards used are not held by the students but by their guardians or neighbors.

Unfortunately, on 3rd March the ICFAI has illegally debited Rs. 1000/- from my said credit card and many communications with ICFAI in this regard failed me to get a reasonable result. I am incurring bank charges till date for the said illegal transaction but ICFAI remained mum.

How can a University like ICFAI act in such illegal way injuring credit card holders and socially jeopardizing students?

Any remedy against such injury done by ICFAI is available to the card holder as well as to the student concerned?
