ATM charges reversal

Sir,

I am an ICICI Bank account holder. My account number is 016501512876. When I opened the account I was told that I can use any bank`s ATM without paying any ATM charges. So whenever I used any other banks ATM, ICICI Bank charged some ATM charge but at the end of each quarter they reversed the ATM charges subject to maintenance of a minimum balance of Rs. 10000.

Now every quarter I got back all my ATM charges back until the quarter of September- December. During this quarter ICICI bank did not reverse my ATM charges and this continued till the month of August. Before this on all previous occasions my ATM charges were reversed.

When I met the bank manager in Gandhinagar branch he asked me to file a written complaint. So on 13th August I wrote a written complaint about the non-reversal of my ATM charges. The bank authorities of the bank mentioned that one needs to convert to a freedom account for availing the ATM charges reversals and that my account was not a FREEDOM ACCOUNT. I applied for making my account freedom account on 13th August but despite of applying on 13th August I was again charged ATM charges on the following dates:

Rs. 20 on 16/07

Rs. 20 on 21/07

Rs. 20 on 26/07

Many weeks passed by and no action was being taken. I visited bank branch at Gandhinagar and took my complaint number which was 77632718.

After this I sent several messages to ICICI bank quoting my complaint number and finally on 15/11 some ATM charges were reversed. But when I checked with my bank statement there were a large number of ATM transactions for which the amount was still not reversed. So I wrote another mail (complaint number SR86363122) stating that still many ATM charges were not reversed. I also stated the range of dates where ATM charges were not reversed.

ICICI bank again reversed some of the ATM charges on 18/11 but after checking my bank statement still many ATM charges not reversed.

After that I have again sent several mails (3 in total) stating the precise dates on which the charges have not yet been paid up but ICICI Bank is not responding to mails.

ICICI still has not reversed the ATM charges on the following dates:

28/01 Rs.22

23/01 Rs.67

01/03 Rs.67

29/04 Rs.20

03/05 Rs.20

10/05 Rs.20

31/05 Rs.20

On many of these I have carried out 2 or 3 atm withdrawals in the same date ICICI has reversed 1 out of 2 or 2 out of 3 but left out one transaction for reversal.

It is a matter of great negligence and carelessness on the part of ICICI bank. To get a sum of money that belongs to me I have to write so much, complaint so many times, cross check and find that still some amount is pending. Also so much time is wasted in doing so, ICICI bank should ideally return my money with interest associated with the money along with my expenses on complaining again and again about their negligence.

A fine should be levied on ICICI bank and a thorough check should be done by other ICICI Bank Account holders to see if ICICI bank is not defaulting with them also.

All of this prompts me to take a legal action against ICICI bank along with closure of my bank account. I have lost faith in the bank.

I would be very grateful to you if you can help me to get back my money from ICICI bank. I also appeal to you to talk strict action against the bank authorities responsible for these faults.
