This should not add to the surprise, as we Indians are accustomed to such treatments at every nick n corner or department or a MNC in India. Anyways let me get to my point here...
We booked a courier at Overnite Express, Patiala, Punjab, vide C.No: 800442339 dated: 31.08.09 for destination clearly addressed as: To, The Manager, United Bank of India, 33/6/2 Laxmi Narain Chowdhry Lane, Kadamtala, Howrah (West Bengal) -711101, booked orgin from: Indian Machine Tool C/o Oreiental Bank of Commerce, Patiala.
1. The C.No. was changed to 700781249 dated : 31.08.09 amongst transit. (Maybe at Chandigarh warehouse or Delhi warehouse).
2. The address of delivery mentioned in the new issued C.NO: 700781249 was, To, the Manager, United Bank of India, Howrah.>>>>>The rest of the detailes of address went missing at this point of time...
3. The parcel along with documents was delivered to a branch in Howrah maidan, to our utmost surprise as to how could the manager receive a material for payment which is actually not happening in his branch.
4. The manager has accepted the delivery of the parcel after our repeated phone calls and tracking the banks details. But none in Overnite Express Patiala, Chandigarh & even in Calcutta office could so far restore the parcel back to the desired branch.
5. The managers are trying to help us by asking the right branch officials to collect the parcel from their branch. Meanwhile we have lost the client for ever apart from paying him the penalty as per the late delivery norms.
